Downtown parking survey circulating

PETERBOROUGH — Town officials are conducting an online survey about parking in the downtown area, hoping to get a sense of who uses the various parking areas in town.

Seth MacLean, an intern working for the town who has been doing occasional parking tallies at the various lots and public parking spaces along Main Street and Grove Street, has also been passing out cards to people encouraging them to take the brief survey, which can be found online at

The survey includes questions on why people use downtown parking, how frequently people park downtown and where they park, as well as a section for comments on the parking situation.

MacLean said town officials are hoping to use his information and survey results to address concerns about parking from residents and owners, as well as workers at downtown businesses.
