Friday, Jan. 31
Check the welfare: At 9:45 a.m., a PSNH worker reported the power had been shut off to a Gulf Road residence two weeks earlier and he was concerned about the people and animals that lived there. An officer checked on the occupant and she said she was doing fine.
Assist: At 2:20 p.m., police and firefighters responded to General Miller Road after a report of an oven problem. Police stood by as firefighters turned off a breaker and unplugged a faulty stove.
Forgery complaint: At 5 p.m., police opened an investigation after a Keene resident reported a forged check from her mother’s account.
Assist: At 6 p.m., police assisted ambulance workers on Currier Avenue. An 86-year-old man who had suffered a possible stroke was taken to Monadnock Community Hospital.
Saturday, Feb. 1
Theft report: At 5:15 p.m., workers at Shaw’s market reported the theft of alcohol earlier in the day.
Assault report: At 5:25 p.m., a Brentwood resident reported she had been assaulted on Jan. 19 at a Village Lane residence.
Arrest: At 7:50 p.m., after getting a report of an assault from a Pine Street resident, police arrested Daniel Codman, 48, of Peterborough and charged him with simple assault, domestic violence related. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance with a March 3 court date in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.
Sunday, Feb. 2
Accident: At 5:50 p.m., Chelsea Hutton, 22, of Peterborough reported that she hit a deer on Route 136 near the Greenfield town line. Hutton’s 2003 Nissan XTerra was not damaged. The deer took off into the woods.
Assist: At 6:07 p.m., police and rescue workers responded to Brady’s American Grill on Concord Street. An elderly man who had lost consciousness was taken by ambulance to Monadnock Community Hospital.
Arrest: At 7:55 p.m., following a traffic stop near the intersection of Winter and Elm streets for alleged defective equipment, police arrested a 17-year-old Peterborough girl and charged her with possession of drugs, believed to be marijuana, and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle. She was released on $1000 personal recognizance with a March 3 court date.
