Tennis club to host open house March 30

The Monadnock Indoor Tennis Club in Peterborough is hosting an Open House March 30 from 2-5:30 p.m. The public is welcomed to tour the facility and play some tennis. Indoor-only, non-marking sneakers are required to play. There will be racquets available to use for anyone without.

The member-owned club is accepting applications for membership, at both the shareholder and the associate member levels.

The nearly 50-year-old club has three indoor courts, allowing members to play all year long. Club pros give private and group lessons and clinics for adults and children.

Dozens of MITC men and women play USTA team tennis, traveling throughout the state for matches, and even nationally some years.

MITC also hosts member tournaments: singles and doubles-- men, women, and mixed. And there are brackets for kids. The club’s full-kitchen lounge area is a gathering spot for friends to visit after they play, and for the many pot-luck socials that happen throughout the year so members and their families can get to know each other. MITC is located on Route 202 north of town, across from Brady’s.
