MDS hosts two job fairs in April
Monadnock Developmental Services is hosting two job fairs in April for those who are interested in positions as direct support professionals, home providers and respite providers.
One will be held at the MDS office at 12 Depot Square (next door to the Toadstool) on Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Attendees can find out more about MDS and the rewards of working with individuals with developmental and related disabilities.
MDS is also hosting a job fair at the MDS office in Keene on Wednesday.
Direct support professionals deliver quality care to persons with a developmental disability or acquired brain disorder. With a variety of responsibilities — reading, games, shopping and other community activities — direct support professionals work as a team to enrich a person’s life in a meaningful way. Home providers share their homes, family and social events with individuals with disabilities, many of whom lead active, full lives that encompass having their own support staff and their own jobs. Respite provider positions can range from overnights provided in one’s own home to overnights in the individuals’ homes, or weekend relief for families on an as-needed basis. Companions are also needed; being a companion is a great way to live rent-free in exchange for weekday overnight support for five nights, leaving days and weekends free to pursue other interests. Several area artists have enjoyed this lifestyle as a companion.
Continual training and support is available for all positions. Day and night shifts are available. For more information, contact Candi Dionne at MDS at 352-1304.
