Monday, Jan. 28

Vandalism: At 5:42 p.m., an employee at a Vose Farm Road business reported that a box truck had been vandalized with black spray paint.

Tuesday, Jan. 29

Accident: At 8:21 a.m., police responded to a two-vehicle crash on Route 101 near Old Street Road. A 2008 Toyota Scion driven by Kathleen Caron, 51, of Nashua ran into the back of a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck driven by George R. Achille, 29, of Nashua. Achille had stopped and was preparing to turn onto Elm Hill Road. Caron said she was unable to stop due to slushy, snowy road conditions. No one was injured. The truck had minor damage and was driven away. The car had moderate damage to the left front corner and was driven away.

Accident: At 10:32 p.m., a 2004 Volkswagen Passat driven by Jacob Dumais, 19, of Sharon went off Elm Hill Road after Dumais moved over for an oncoming vehicle. The car went off the shoulder and traveled about 20 feet before hitting a tree stump. Dumais was not injured. The car had heavy damage and was towed.

Wednesday, Jan. 30

Accident: At 6:55 a.m., a 2004 Lincoln driven by an Amherst man went into the ditch off Nashua Road in Sharon. The car, which was slightly damaged, was towed out and driven away.

Accident: At 7:10 a.m., a 2003 Nissan Altima driven by Stacy Whitaker, 44, of Peterborough slid on an ice-covered section of Route 202 near the ConVal traffic light. After the car stopped, it was hit by a 2002 Nissan pickup driven by Kenneth Blakeman, 58, of Peterborough, who was unable to stop on the ice-covered road. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were damaged and were driven away.

Theft report: At 10:12 a.m., police took a report that a 1987 GMC Sierra pickup truck with a yellow Fischer plow was missing from a local business. Police were told the keys had been left over the visor.

Noise complaint: At 6:56 p.m., police spoke to a Summer Street woman after getting a complaint that noise from her radio was so loud that pictures were falling off the wall in the apartment above.

Thursday, Jan. 31

Road hazards: During the morning, police removed trees or branches that had fallen on Middle Hancock Road and Spring Hill Road and contacted the state Highway Department about large trees down on Jarmany Hill Road in Sharon and on Route 136. Police also notified the Fire Department and PSNH about wires down on Lounsbury Lane and stood by while state highway workers removed a tree blocking part of Route 202 south.

Arrest: At 10:32 a.m., Amanda Curry, 31, of Peterborough turned herself in on a warrant charging her with issuing a bad check. She was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a March 4 court date in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.

Arrest: At 11:17 a.m., Christopher A. Morace, 24, of Winchendon, Mass., turned himself in on a warrant charging him with simple assault and disorderly conduct. He has a court date of March 25 in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.

Road hazards: In the afternoon, police responded to reports of trees or wires down on Route 101 West, Cunningham Pond Road and East Mountain Road

Arrest: At 8:28 p.m., after getting a complaint about four people parked in a minivan in the Summer Street municipal parking lot, police arrested Joseph Buros-Dandurant, 19, of Francestown and charged him with possession of a controlled drug. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a Feb. 25 court date. A 16-year-old boy was placed into protective custody and released to his mother.

Friday, Feb. 1

Accident: At 5:20 a.m., police went to Route 101 near the top of Temple Mountain after a 2004 Chrysler PT cruiser went off the road and hit a utility pole, taking down the pole and wires. Four other vehicles hit the pole or wires, including a tractor-trailer unit that had damage to its windshield. The PT cruiser was totaled and was towed. Two other vehicles had minor damage to the hood and front end and were towed. The tractor trailer unit was driven away. The road was closed for a short time, then two of the three available lanes were opened and police directed traffic while PSNH workers repaired the pole and wires.

Suspicious object: At 3:02 p.m., a clerk at Mr. Mike’s on Grove Street reported that someone left a suitcase at the pumps under what seemed to be suspicious circumstances. The state police Bomb Squad responded with an X-ray machine as a safety precaution. It was found to be was a briefcase and the owner was notified and picked it up later in the day.

Accident: At 4:06 p.m., a 1990 Honda Accord driven by Zachary Weichel, 21, of Sharon rear-ended a 2003 Toyota Tacoma pickup driven by Gerald Decatur, 75, of Troy on Route 202 near the People’s Bank branch. The Honda had heavy front-end damage and was towed. The truck had rear-end damage and was driven away. No one was injured.

Assault report: At 7:37 p.m., police responded to the Big Apple convenience store on Route 101 after getting a 911 call about three young people fighting in the parking lot. Those involved had left by the time police arrived.
