The inaugural Healthy Start 5K to benefit the Maternal and Child Health Program at Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services will be held June 8 at 8:30 a.m. The race and walking events will start and finish at the HCS offices on Marlboro Street. Families, strollers and baby carriages are encouraged. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in all age categories, and every participant will receive a free t-shirt.
The Maternal and Child Health Program at HCS strives to improve access to prenatal care, parenting education and safety-net services for low-income women, and provides well-child checkups to qualifying children from birth to age 18. The service is available throughout southwestern New Hampshire.
