Young artist award announced
Monadnock Art / Friends of the Dublin Art Colony has announced a new Young Artist Award program and the first annual Young Artist Award.
For nearly 20 years, Monadnock Art / Friends of the Dublin Art Colony has sought to connect art lovers with the people who make art, and to educate the community on the rich heritage of the visual arts in this corner of New Hampshire.
Through this $500 award to one aspiring art student, the organization hopes to further its mission by supporting and encouraging a new generation of artists. Members of the Monadnock Art board will review applications and select one successful young artist for this award in early June.
To qualify for the award, the applicant must be a high school senior who plans to pursue post-secondary studies in the visual arts or art education, and must reside in the Contoocook Valley Regional School District.
Application forms, with full information on the application process, can be downloaded from the ConVal High School website in the Guidance / Class of 2013 Scholarship Information section.
Completed applications and accompanying materials must be received by the ConVal Guidance Department no later than May 15.
Monadnock Art / Friends of the Dublin Art Colony is a nonprofit organization with a mission of celebrating the presence of the visual arts in the Monadnock region of southwestern New Hampshire, from the artists who gathered in and near Dublin at the turn of the 19th century to the hundreds of artists who live and work throughout the region today.
