Tuesday, July 23

Arrest: At 8:30 a.m., police arrested Nicholas Kierstead, 20, of Peterborough on a warrant charging him with burglary, in relation to an incident that occurred in September 2011. Bail was set at $5,000 personal recognizance and Kierstead was transported by a sheriff’s deputy back to the Valley Street Jail, where he is currently serving a sentence. His court date on the burglary charge was set for Aug. 6 in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.

Wednesday, July 24

Assist: At 6:48 p.m., while on patrol on Route 123 in Sharon, Officer Martin Kolb was approached by a driver flashing the vehicle’s headlights. The Temple resident requested assistance with her 90-year-old mother, who was having obvious extreme difficulty breathing. Kolb had them follow him to the ambulance entrance at the Monadnock Community Hospital.

Thursday, July 25

False alarm: At 12:32 p.m., a caller reported a house on Summer Street was on fire but he could not give an address. Police spoke to the homeowner, who stated she gets scam phone calls several times a day and to get rid of the last caller, she said there was an emergency at her house and she had to go. There was no fire.

Hit and run: At 4:01 p.m., a Hancock resident reported her 2009 Kia had been scratched while parked at People’s United Bank. It appears someone in a white vehicle backed into the car, damaging the passenger’s door and side mirror.

Saturday, July 27

Arrest: At 1:39 a.m., after stopping a 2001 Volkswagen on Sharon Road for alleged speeding, police arrested the driver, Brenden J. Singelais, 19, of West Townsend, Mass., and a passenger, Denzel L. Harris, 20, of Peterborough. Singelais was charged with DWI, transporting a controlled drug, transporting alcohol and operating after suspension. He was released on $2,500 personal recognizance with an Aug. 15 court date in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey. Harris was charged with possession of alcohol and having an open container in a motor vehicle. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with an Aug. 15 court date. Both men were released to a sober adult.

Theft report: At 9 a.m., police took a report from a Vose Farm Road business that gasoline had been siphoned from two of the business’s trucks during the night.

Burglary report: At 2:50 p.m., a woman reported a burglary at her residence. Police determined that her soon-to-be ex-husband had been in the garage. He is still listed as one of the homeowners. There were no orders barring him from the property.

Shots reported: At 9:47 p.m., a caller reported hearing four gun shots in the Taggart Lane area. Police checked and were unable to locate anything.

Sunday, July 28

Complaint: At 5:23 p.m., a resident called to complain about noise from the Monadnock Rod and Gun Club. He said shooters were using Tannerite bomb targets that were very loud. Police spoke to several people at the club and found that no Tannerite bombs were being used and no laws had been broken.

Shots reported: At 8:15 p.m., a caller from Prescott Hill Apartments reported hearing four gun shots. Police checked the area and heard nothing.
