Wednesday, Dec. 19
Arrest/warrant: At 1 a.m., Lawrence Stacy, 44, of Troy turned himself into police on a warrant issued by the Jaffrey Police Department charging him with unsworn falsification. Stacy was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a Feb. 6 court date at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey.
Burglary: At 6:27 a.m., a resident of Skyview Drive reported that she had heard a noise outside her home and later discovered that her shed had been broken into. No items from the shed were reported missing. The case is under investigation.
Thursday, Dec. 20
Arrest/warrant: At 10:10 p.m., Denny Chicoine, 25, and Vanessa Cochran, 20, both of Winchendon, Mass., turned themselves into police on warrants issued by the Rindge Police Department charging them with shoplifting. Chicoine and Cochran were each released on $1,000 personal recognizance with Feb. 6 court dates. Both were charged with allegedly stealing a TV set from WalMart on Route 202.
Friday, Dec. 21
Arrest: At 10:40 a.m., police made a motor vehicle stop on Route 202 near WalMart based on a vehicle description they had obtained from a Hallmark employee just minutes prior about an alleged shoplifter. The driver, Jennifer Toth, 38, of Winchendon, Mass., was arrested and charged with shoplifting and driving after suspension of license. She was released on $1,500 personal recognizance with a Feb. 6 court date. Her passenger, Aaron O’Donnell, 36, of Templeton, Mass., was issued a hand summons charging him with a town ordinance open container violation.
Sunday, Dec. 23
Accident: At 11:56 a.m., police responded to Route 202 for a two-car accident. Keeley Chretien, 46, of Winchendon, Mass., was driving a 2008 Chrysler town and country van south on Route 202 when she collided with a 2012 Honda Sonata driven by John Shaw, 61, of Rindge. Chretien told police she thought Shaw was turning left, so she attempted to pass the car on the right. But Shaw turned right instead and the two cars crashed. The Honda sustained moderate damage and had to be towed. Neither driver was injured.
Monday, Dec. 24
Arrest: At 11:20 p.m., police responded to a residence on Hunt Hill Road for a medical call for a 21-year-old who was reportedly having a seizure. While on scene, police learned of a domestic dispute that had just taken place at the residence. Jennifer McCarthy, 21, of Rindge was arrested and charged with simple assault and criminal mischief. She was released on $1,500 personal recognizance with a Feb. 6 court date. She was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough for treatment.
Wednesday, Dec. 26
Arrest/warrant: At 10:54 a.m., Michael Evens, 50, of Gardner, Mass., turned himself into police on an electronic bench warrant for default of a court summons issued by the 6th Circuit Court in Hillsborough. Following an arraignment at the 8th Circuit Court in Jaffrey on the morning of Dec. 26, Evens was released on $1,500 personal recognizance with a Jan. 3 court date at the 6th Circuit Court in Hillsborough.
