FPU’s annual weeklong showcase starts Monday
Franklin Pierce University will hold its Academic Showcase on its Rindge campus April 15 to 19. The showcase is comprised of several sessions on a wide range of topics held each day at various locations around campus. A full schedule, including a brief description of topics and where and when each session is held, is available at www.franklinpierce.edu.
The annual showcase is an opportunity for students to share their academic passions and expertise with the university and the greater community. All events are free.
This year, a new feature of the Academic Showcase is a Faculty Poster Session, held on April 19 from noon to 2 p.m. in Spagnuolo Hall. Fifteen posters on topics ranging from local and global environmental concerns, to the importance of physical activity for cancer survivors, to the art of photographing flowers will be shared. Another highlight of the week is a presentation titled “The Roots Go Deep: The Making of a Mural” on April 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Petrocelli Hall, Room 115. The design, construction, and installation of a ceramic mural made at Franklin Pierce during the summer and fall of 2012 in honor of its 50th Anniversary will be discussed, which resulted in a permanent artwork piece to enhance the lobby of Petrocelli Hall.
