Summer reading programs to begin

“Dig into Reading” is the theme for this summer’s reading program which area libraries will be hosting beginning June 14.

Peterborough Town Library

Families can sign up for the program at the librarian’s desk starting June 14. All ages up to 18 may participate in this free program that provides a log for children to record their reading time and encourages them to Dig Into Reading this summer. Free drawings will be held each week for readers who put in slips for every hour they read, with chances to win minerals, books, iTunes cards, and minecraft certificates. Those readers who have read 600 minutes by July 26 will receive a small surprise and a coupon to the Toadstool Bookshop.

Ingalls Memorial Library, Rindge

Kick-off for the summer reading program will be June 20, at the Meeting House. The weekly program begins June 24 at 10:30 a.m. or participants can come June 27 at 6:30 p.m. The program is for children in preschool through those who have just finished grade 5.
