Tuesday, March 19

Burglary report: At 2:05 a.m., police went to a Granite Street residence after a resident reported hearing glass breaking at a neighboring apartment. Police were told that two men had fled on foot. Police found a smashed window at one of the apartments in the building. The resident of that apartment was not at home. Police said the suspects did not get into the building and the incident is being investigated.

Arrest: At 2:30 a.m., while investigating the burglary report on Granite Street, police saw a man in plain view with a plastic bag full of green vegetative matter. They knocked on his front door and he answered the door with a bag of marijuana in his hand. Police arrested Brian R. Moore, 25, of Peterborough and charged him with possession of a controlled drug. Moore was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with an April 22 court date in 8th Circuit Court, Jaffrey.

Accident: At 9:24 a.m., police responded to a report of a car off the road on Route 202 just south of the Monadnock Shopping Village. The undamaged car was towed back on to the road and driven away.

Accident: At 3:38 p.m., a 2003 GMC pickup driven by Lionel Emond, 41, of Jaffrey slid while turning onto Grove Street Extension from Route 202 and hit a 2005 Ford 500 driven by Jonarthur Cormier, 49, of Rindge. No one was injured. Both vehicles were driven away.

Suspicious person: At 7:55 p.m., police got a report of a man walking in the middle of Route 202 South. He was given a courtesy ride to his residence.

Wednesday, March 20

Complaint: At 12:46 p.m., the school bus company reported that a green Subaru drove through the red lights while bus 19 was picking up students in the morning.

Complaint: At 2:43 p.m., a Peterborough man reported that he had been threatened over Facebook by another man he knows. He provided a written statement.

Accident: At 3:29 p.m., Patrick Terry, 45, of Peterborough was stopped on Route 202, waiting to turn left onto Hunt Road, when his 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee was hit from behind by a 2001 Acura Integra driven by Elijah S. Johnson, 30, of Antrim. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and were towed. No one was injured.

Thursday, March 21

Accident report: At 8:02 a.m., police responded to an accident on Concord Street near Brady’s restaurant. A 2004 Jeep Liberty driven by Linda S. Wheeler, 48, of Peterborough was southbound on Concord Street when a 2009 Subaru Forester, driven by Sheila E. Nichols, 58, of Antrim, pulled out from Parmelee Drive and was hit by Wheeler’s Jeep. Both vehicles had moderate damage and were driven away.

Accident: At 10:28 a.m., Heather Lynn Knapp, 34, of Londonderry, driving a 2010 Nissan Versa, drove onto Route 101 from Old Street Road and collided with a 2012 Chevrolet pickup driven by Mikayla Shattuck, 17, of Wilton, who was driving west on Route 101. Shattuck and a passenger were taken to Monadnock Community Hospital. Both vehicles had major front-end damage and were towed.

Accident: At 5:17 p.m., Andrea Smith, 68, of Merrimack, driving a 2007 Ford Camry, was turning out of the N.H. Ball Bearings lot onto Route 202 when she collided with an oncoming 2012 Ford F-150 pickup driven by Frank E. Babcock, 52, of Chichester. The Camry had front-end damage and was towed. The truck had very minor damage and was driven away. No one was injured.

Friday, March 22

Complaint: At 12:22 a.m., a Riverview Apartments resident reported a smell of marijuana in the building. Police were unable to locate the source.

Accident/Arrest: At 3:10 p.m., a local business reported that a customer had requested a tow after his car went off Summer Street. Police found a 2006 Toyota Matrix in a small pond and stood by while it was recovered. The owner of the vehicle, Ronald J. Labier, 76, of Peterborough, was subsequently arrested on a warrant charging him with theft of lost or mislaid property. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with an April 22 court date. Police gave Labier a courtesy ride to his residence.

Saturday, March 23

Accident: At 8:13 a.m., William C. Benotti, 39, of Temple reported that he had been driving on Gulf Road around midnight when something broke in the front end of his 1988 GMC pickup, and the truck veered to the left and hit a tree. The center bumper was damaged. Benotti was uninjured and he went home. A towing company removed the truck.

Arrest: At 11:03 a.m., following a traffic stop on Route 202 South, police arrested Derek C. Allard, 42, of Peterborough and charged him with operating after suspension. He was released on $1,000 personal recognizance with a court date of April 22.

Report: At 12:20 p.m., a caller reported seeing a collision between two vehicles at the intersection of Elm Street and Route 101. He said the vehicles had been moved out of the road and the drivers were arguing in the CVS parking lot. The drivers and vehicles were gone when police arrived.

Untimely death: At 6:04 p.m., police responded to a report of an untimely death on Old Street Road. The resident was elderly and had passed away in her sleep.

Arrests: At 11:40 p.m., police took two 15-year-old Peterborough boys into protective custody after finding one of them in possession of a bottle of vodka. The boy said he had stolen the vodka from his father and they were planning to meet with another friend to drink it. The youths were released to their parents.

Monday, March 24

Criminal mischief: At 1:02 p.m., a Falmouth man reported finding his tire slashed at a work site on RiverMead Road. He said his tires had also been slashed twice earlier in the month.
