‘Shimmer’ play on stage Aug. 1-2

The play “Shimmer” will be presented at ConVal High School in the Lucy Hurlin Theatre on Aug. 1 and 2 at 7:30 p.m.

The play is a semi-autobiographical, gritty and poetic coming-of-age story about an almost 16-year old’s experiences at a juvenile county home in Iowa. This play was written and originally presented by John O’Keefe.

In addition to presenting the award-winning play, which is built for both traditional and alternative venues, the project is designed to invite artist residencies where communities, institutions, and individuals have the opportunity to participate in workshops in writing, devising, and performing for the theater.

Contributing artists for this production include Abner Soto, Erin Sweeney, Jason Lambert and Reyna de Courcy.

“Shimmer” runs 70 minutes and contains some adult themes and language.

Tickets are $10 and can be reserved in advance by contacting Jason Lambert at agnestable@gmail.com or 646-369-4803 or at the door.
