ConVal drops two meets
The ConVal wrestling team traveled to Merrimack on Thursday for a dual meet. The Cougars lost the team component 64-16, but they did have a few wrestlers who earned wins that evening. 113-pounder Eric Wall won by a major decision, 12-2; 145-pounder Josh Curran and 160-pounder Adam Smullen both won by pin.
On Saturday, the Cougars placed 11th in the Nor’Easter tourney at Hollis-Brookline. Smullen was third overall on the day, pinning four of his five opponents for a 4-1 record. ConVal’s other point-scorers were Andrew Hunt in the 126-pound class, Josh Bartsch at 132, Curran at 152 and John Voorhees, who had two pins in the 285-pound class. ConVal travels to Keene High School on Jan. 4 for a tournament.
