No charges in June collision
TEMPLE — Police will not be pursuing charges in a June accident that left a Massachusetts woman in the hospital after her car crossed the yellow line and collided with another vehicle.
Police still do not know what caused Valerie Hatch, 70, of Danvers, Mass. to drift over the line on the morning of June 24 in a collision with a freight truck driven by Ronald Rose, 49, of Nashua, said Temple-Greenville Police Chief Jim McTague. There was nothing at the scene to indicate drug or alcohol may have been a factor in this accident, he said, and so police did not request a subpoena for blood tests for Hatch when she was admitted to the hospital.
Hatch was still in the Intensive Care Unit at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester at the beginning of July as a result of the crash. Calls to UMass Worcester seeking Hatch’s current condition were not returned by press time Wednesday.
