Skip Philbrick brings the blues Saturday

The Skip Philbrick Band will be playing at Nelson’s Candies on Saturday. Doors open at 7 p.m.

For the past 40 plus years, guitarist Philbrick has played the blues at the Rynborn Blues Club in Antrim and backing up artists such as Otis Rush, Luther “Guitar Jr.” Johnson, Bo Diddley, Duke Robillard and Lazy Lester.

The Skip Philbrick Band were Blues Bank Collective 2002 winners of the “Blues First” Competition.

The other members of the band are Jeremy Brown, keyboard, Rusty Corson, bass, John Hoik, drums, and Mike Wakefield, saxophone.

Admission is $20. The house band will open. For more information, call 654-5030.
