Silent Western drama screening Sunday at Wilton theater

“The Winning of Barbara Worth,” a 1926 silent Western drama starring Gary Cooper, Ronald Colman and Vilma Banky, will be shown on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at the Town Hall Theatre.

Directed by Henry King, the film chronicles the epic story of pioneer settlers who dreamed of irrigating California’s parched Imperial Valley in the early 20th century. Filmed on location in Nevada’s Black Rock desert, the movie is noted for its extensive use of vast open spaces and wild scenery.

Live music for the movie will be provided by silent film accompanist Jeff Rapsis.

Admission is free; a donation of $5 per person is suggested to defray costs.
