Egg decorating workshops offered

There will be two egg decorating workshops taught by Carolyn Carter at the Color Shop in November.

The first one on Nov. 9, will be on the Oyer Schritzle style, inscribing on white or brown eggs in onion skin dyes, producing earth tones. This technique will use authentic designs from the centuries-old Pennsylvania German tradition.

On Nov. 30, the class will be taught snowflake designs from the artist’s winter collection using cool shades of blues, blacks and greens. Students will work on raw, unrefrigerated white eggs with stylus, beeswax and aniline dyes. The year and creator’s initials are incorporated into some of the snowflakes.

The fee for each workshop is $25 with a limit of 12 adults.
