You may qualify for assistance
To the editor:
Are you or someone you know living in Peterborough struggling to pay heating bills?
The first safety net is the state fuel assistance program, but many Peterborough folks do not qualify for that assistance and yet still struggle to pay for fuel. Keep Peterborough Warm stands ready to help. Please know that you are welcome to come into the Peterborough Town House, ask for Vanessa, and apply for such assistance.
If you are living alone and have a gross income between $22,340 and $36,620, you may qualify. If you are a family of four and have a gross income of $46,100 and $59,060, you may also qualify. If you have any questions, come in and speak to Vanessa.
If you know someone who is struggling financially, living in their own house, or renting, and having trouble paying their fuel bills, please encourage them to come in and apply. This year’s maximum fuel grant is $850. That should go a long way to give an individual or family relief in this freezing weather. Asking for help takes courage, but there are times when each of us are in need of help. Let Vanessa help.
Thanks for passing the word.
