Let’s find a more positive approach
To the editor:
As a person living in Greenfield in a home opposite the library at 760 Forest Rd., I would like to go on record as opposing the proposed Neighborhood Heritage District initiative. Why? Because I dislike reactionary, punitive ways of living together in a community. To state it in the extreme so as to make a point, are we going to pay a bounty to anyone reporting an infraction of the rules? This way of achieving a great and desirable goal sets neighbor against neighbor. Why not have a positive approach? What if there was a true advisory committee that was actually a resource with perhaps even some money behind it to guide and support people in the district in making their homes beautiful?
If you live in Greenfield, please vote against this proposal and support affirming, proactive solutions to continuing to have a beautiful town of Greenfield.
