Re: “Man rescues dog from a canal”
To the editor:
If Mr. Michael Boyd was in control of his dog as per a town ordinance he wouldn’t have put himself or his dog in danger. The ordinance says he is supposed to have control of his dog and, in the article, he states he took all three of their leashes and they were running at large where he didn’t have control and wasn’t paying attention to them.
It was a shame that the dog fell into the canal, but it was his stupidity for jumping in after it and it could have cost him his life if it hadn’t been for the Monadnock Paper Mills watchman doing his rounds. As for suing the mill, it was you who failed to follow the town ordinance so they are not at fault and in my almost 65 years of living in this area you are the only person who I ever heard of that jumped into the mill canal that is posted “Danger no trespassing.”
