Letter: A desire to help in Wilton
To the editor:
People have been asking me, “Why are you running for Wilton Board of Selectmen?” I don’t have a beef with anyone and I don’t have a hidden agenda. I am running because there is an open seat and I think I can do a good job for the town of Wilton. I have lived in Wilton for three years, not as long as some, but I have some good experience and I care.
People have also asked me, “What do you want to accomplish?” I don’t represent a special interest and I don’t have an ax to grind. I would like to make sure the Town of Wilton makes good investments. I pay property taxes and I don’t want to see anyone’s property tax bill get any higher. I don’t want to see people, especially seniors, move away from Wilton because they can’t afford to live there.
I have been a member of the Wilton Budget Committee for two budget cycles now, so I have begun to understand where the money goes. I grew up in Nashua, and before I moved back to this area I served on the City Council of Flagstaff, Ariz., for eight years. If I am elected, I will be a good listener for the people of Wilton and a good colleague for the other selectmen.
