Runners made  a difference

To the editor:

It is during our most difficult times we often see the kindness and generosity of others. This was so true after the tragedy in Boston. Many Monadnock Milers and other runners got together on April 22 to run and to raise money for the families most affected by the by the tragic events that unfolded at the Boston Marathon. One was held in Keene at 2:49 p.m. and the other was held in Peterborough at 6 p.m. The Monadnock Milers is a running group serving the Monadnock region. The Keene group raised $567 and Peterborough raised $590.

Not only did the runners give generously, but Ted’s Shoe and Sport matched the amount raised by the Keene Group.

Thank you to all the runners and Ted’s Shoe and Sport for your generosity.
