Fire response saved our home
To the editor:
On Sunday May 5, our family experienced a tragic event – our 220 year old barn was completely destroyed in a fire.
We wanted to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to all of the firefighters, police, and ambulance professionals who responded to the emergency. While their heroic efforts could not save our barn, the team of 80-plus firefighters from 13 towns (Peterborough, Antrim, Dublin, Francestown, Greenfield, Hancock, Harrisville, Jaffrey, Keene, Milford, New Ipswich, Rindge, and Temple) did save our garage and our house. For those of you we could not thank in person, please know that we sincerely appreciated everything you did for us last Sunday. Thank you!
Also, thank you to all our friends and neighbors who reached out with your kind thoughts and support. It is hard to express how much your support means to us.
Lastly, I want to thank all those inconvenienced by the closure of Old Jaffrey Road for five-plus hours for your patience and understanding as the first responders did their jobs.
We feel blessed to live in such a wonderful and supportive community.
