Letters: Grapevine thanks community for supporting art show

To the editor:

The Grapevine would like to thank the dozens of children, youth and local adults who displayed their works of art at the 4th annual Black Fly Community Art Show, and to the community members who visited and enjoyed the show.

Children and adults alike enjoyed art-making stations, including flyswatter painting, ceramic hand platters, big paper painting outdoors, and more.

Special thanks go to Antrim potter Brian Murphy, who was on hand again this year to throw ceramic “family heirloom” platters, complete with children’s hand prints and to Sadie Cahoon for her stunning and intricate face painting designs of tigers, super heroes and gypsies.

And finally, thank you to the contributing artists, including children from Antrim Elementary School, Hillsborough-Deering Elementary School, ConVal High School, The Well School and local homeschooling families, and a special thank you to Antrim artists Ann Haggett and Elsa Voelker for contributing works to show and to sell, with proceeds benefiting The Grapevine. It was a fun and beautiful day.

Beth Bradford
and Carol Lunan,

Art show organizers
