Many united to boost reading

To the editor:

Our “Dig Into Reading” seven-week summer reading program concluded this Saturday with Angela Cay Klingler’s storytelling. Other highlights included our “Worm Wednesdays,” rock collecting with Steve Lechner, reading with Toven the therapy dog, hearing Ted O’Brien’s renditions of folk and fairy tales, family storytimes and crafts, a visit from Wildlife Encounters, minecraft scavenger hunts, the dragon’s crystal cave, and weekly prize drawings. Two-hundred and ten people participated in the program.

We wish to thank the Friends of the Peterborough Town Library for completely funding our programs and prizes, the Toadstool Bookshop for donating book coupons, Ted O’Brien for his time and voice, Matt Parison for displaying his mineral collection, and Mary Stefanik for driving Toven. Thanks to Erica Alusic-Bingham, Eleni Garcia, Ann Harrison, Morgan Humphrey, Alex McCall, Chris McCall, Maeve Newman, Regina Siegel, Cindy Sterling, Elizabeth Taft, Oliver Ward, and the participants for their creativity and suggestions.
