Poles conflict with conservation

To the editor,

Pollution never ends.  Now we are faced with Eversource planning to put telephone poles (or some similar poles) on the road leading up Pack Monadnock.

It can’t be for telephones because everyone has cell phones, so it’s probably for electricity. It’s hard to see why this is needed or even wanted, but if for any reason it is, the reason must be tiny and very unimportant to anyone but Eversource. Should we allow the ruin of this beautiful road just to enrich Eversource?

The poles will be in direct conflict with the purpose of those hundreds of conserved acres that so far have saved this beautiful, important stretch of preserved forest. The next step in “improving” this mountain might as well be a shopping mall complete with a drive-through McDonalds at the top.

A petition will be circulated to oppose the plan, so if the beauty of nature means anything to you, please sign it, and if a meeting is held to oppose this ghastly plan, please attend.
