The ConVal-Conant boys’ hockey team is in the midst of a hot streak to conclude their season. The Griffins didn’t lose at all last week in a three-game series that culminated in an emotional 2-2 draw with Division III’s No. 2 team, John Stark-Hopkinton, on Saturday.

Senior stalwart Matt Kolk was a game-time decision Saturday after learning of an illness in his family. Kolk played, and his teammates rallied around him.

“I wouldn’t have wanted to play us today, I don’t care who you are.” said head coach Mark Leger.

Palmer Timmons scored in the first period unassisted, and Aidan Kirby scored in the second off a pass from Kyle Eaves.

Earlier in the week, the Griffins beat Laconia 8-1 behind a hat-trick from Evan Turner, two from Eaves and goals from Kolk, Preston Kirby and Tyler Damon.

Then, ConVal-Conant beat Hollis-Brookline 4-2.

The Griffins (6-7-1) conclude their season at Pembroke (6-9) Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ConVal-Conant is 8th in Division III and Pembroke is 9th; nine teams make the playoffs.
