ConVal boys finish second at H-B

The ConVal track & field team’s throwing dominance continued on Tuesday at a three-team meet at Hollis/Brookline.

Junior Coty Cadorette won the shot put and finished second in the discus. Senior Nawyn Meas won the discus, placed second in the javelin and third in the shot put and Kyle Murray finished second and third in the discus and javelin.

On the girls side, junior Selina Baldwin took second in the javelin and third in the discus.

But it was not just the throwers who did well.

Corey Barrett won the boys 200 meters and finished third in the 400. Lara Matthias captured the win in the 300-meter hurdles and Zach Phaneuf came out on top in the triple jump. Riley Henry placed second in the 800 and third in the 1,600 and Andrew Hunt had a pair of fifth place finishes in the 800 and 3,200.

Stas Maksimikhin was runner-up in the 400, while Sarah Hurely was third in the girls 400.

ConVal travels to Merrimack Valley on Saturday.
