ConVal’s 2nd half rally falls short

The ConVal boys lacrosse team fell to 1-3 overall after dropping a 13-8 decision to Laconia on Monday.

The Cougars fell behind 8-2 at the half before mounting a rally in the third quarter to cut the deficit to three, 9-6. But that was as close as they would get, as penalties allowed the Sachems to pull away in the end.

Of ConVal’s seven penalties in the game, Laconia scored on six of them, including a perfect 5-for-5 in the first half.

Isaiah Taylor scored a season high four goals — also a best for the team in 2013. Patrick Joseph added two goals, while Riordan McCole and Stephen Twitchell each scored once.

On Friday, the Cougars fell to Pelham, last year’s Division III runner-up, 17-4.

Taylor, McCole, Twitchell and Mike Palazzola each scored a goal.

ConVal hosts Stevens on Friday.
