Warriors win 5th straight

Holka, Schwab each drive in two

The Wilton-Lyndeborough softball team stretched its win streak to five on Monday with a 9-4 victory over Newmarket.

The Warriors took the lead for good in the third, as they completed the season sweep of the Mules. WLC won the first meeting 14-2 on April 15.

Senior Andrea Heck went 3-for-4, but twisted her ankle sliding late in the game and was uncertain for Wednesday’s contest at Epping.

Freshman Ally Schwab also had three hits and drove in two runs, while freshman Sarah Holka had two hits with two RBIs. Junior Sophie LeVert was 2-for-3.

Senior Deanna Davidson picked up the win, pitching all seven innings. Davidson struck out six and allowed six hits, but also issued 10 walks.

Prior to Wednesday’s game, the Warriors had not lost since dropping their season opener at Hinsdale.

WLC travels to Pittsfield on Friday for the first of two straight meetings with the Panthers.
