Cougars drop 2 in a row

Strong performances by Clough, Doyle not enough for ConVal

The ConVal baseball team entered this week winners of three straight.

But back-to-back losses dropped the Cougars to 4-4 on the season.

On Tuesday, senior Taylor Doyle struck out 13 over seven innings against Hollis/Brookline, but three unearned runs in the seventh led to a 5-1 loss. ConVal’s only run came on a Tyler Aborn RBI double in the fifth following a Zach Mackey double.

On Monday, ConVal lost to Monadnock 3-2 in nine innings. Junior Ivon Clough struck out 14 in seven, but the Huskies pushed two across in the top of the ninth. ConVal rallied for one in the last of the ninth.

ConVal hosts Conant on Monday.
