Warriors defeat Orioles 6-3

WLC sweeps season series with Conant

The Wilton-Lyndeborough boys tennis team completed a season sweep of Conant on Monday, winning 6-3.

The match was tied at three wins apiece after singles play before the Warriors took all three doubles pairings.

Conant No. 1 Brian Yaceshyn outlasted WLC’s Connor Holt, 9-7. The Warriors’ No. 2 James Edmunds defeated Ben Desmaris 8-3, but Conant’s Lucas Tapply gave the Orioles an edge with an 8-5 win at No. 3 over Ryan Christino. WLC’s No. 4 Skye Williams evened the match with an 8-6 victory over Vinny Geloran.

WLC No. 5 Michael Thibault won 8-1 over Conant’s William Blake, but the Orioles’ No. 6, Zach Jean made it 3-3 with an 8-4 victory over John Lemire.

Holt and Edmunds squeaked out a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles over Yaceshyn and Desmaris. Christino and Williams defeated Tapply and Jean 8-5, while Thibault and Lemire won 8-3 over Geloran and Blake.

In the first meeting on April 18, WLC won 5-4, but Conant had just five players and forfeited two matches.

WLC travels to ConVal today, while Conant travels to Kearsarge on Friday.
