Bringing home the title

The ConVal 10-year-old all-star team won the District 4 tournament last Thursday with a 7-6 win over Kearsarge Mountain in the finals. ConVal trailed 5-0 after the first, but battled back with two in the third and four more in the fifth to take the lead for good. In the tournament opener on June 23, ConVal defeated Kearsarge Mountain 3-2 to advance to the winners’ bracket. On Tuesday, ConVal took a 1-0 lead over Kearsarge Mountain in the championship round before two days of rain forced the game to be finished on Thursday, which ConVal lost 4-1. With the 7-6 victory in the final game of the tournament, ConVal advances to the U10 state tournament in Exeter that begins on Friday.
