Dollars for Scholars tournament Sept. 6-8
The ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars will host its first annual tennis tournament the weekend of Sept. 6–8 at the Peterborough Recreation tennis courts at Adams Playground.
The tournament will feature an A and B division for both men and women of all ages, as well as mixed doubles and an adult/junior division.
The organization is looking for sponsors for the event. There are a number of sponsorship levels to choose from, including the Grand Slam at $1,000; the Masters 500 at $500; the Masters 250 at $250 and the Challengers at $100.
The Finlay Foundation will match up to $5,000 to Dollars for Scholars for registrations and sponsorships.
The ConVal Community Dollars for Scholars is a not-for-profit organization founded in 2006 whose mission is “to give hope and confidence to help more students in the ConVal Region to achieve their potential.” The CVCDFS provides financial assistance to ConVal graduates’ post-secondary educational opportunities, including college planning advice, mentoring and scholarships.
The cost is $35 per players and those interested in playing in two divisions can do so for $25 per division.
