Arruda leads Mountaineers in 39-6 win

Joshua Arruda did it all on Sunday – recovering the opening onside kickoff, rushing six times for three touchdowns and 151 yards and making seven tackles as the Monadnock Mountaineers closed out the regular season with a 39-6 victory over the host Nashua Force. Arruda’s touchdown runs were for 33, 39, and 47 yards. Also aiding the dominant Mountaineer rushing attach were Carter Jack Cormier (three carries, 72 yards, 1 TD), Sam West (66 yards on four carries), and Tyler Faulkner (40 yards on five carries, 2 TDs).

Defensively, Daniel Curran led a balanced Mountaineer defense with eight tackles (two for loss) and one forced fumble. Ian LaBelle had six tackles (three for loss) and Hunter Gullage and Cormier each had five.

With the victory, the Mountaineers finish 7-1 and wrap up a first-place regular season finish. The Nashua Force fall to 5-3. The Mountaineers play one final time, in the state championship game on Nov. 3.
