ConVal grad is top grappler
∎ 2011 ConVal graduate Thomas Curran, currently at West Point, won the North American Grappling Association Middleweight Championship last weekend. Curran won the first match by points, won the second by submission after applying an anaconda chokehold and then came from behind in the final match and forced a submission with a belly-down armbar.
∎ The Dublin School girls’ soccer team had their last home game on Nov. 6 against Winchendon School. The game ended with a tie, 0-0. All of the Dublin girls put forth tremendous effort and there was a great sense of energy on the field, despite the cold temperature.
Hope Fowler had some beautiful passes in the midfield, and Sabrina Hayden had three shots on goal. Dublin’s goalie, Julia Marcou, played a great game in goal with seven saves. As this was Dublin’s last home game, the team would like to thank their four seniors, Mylisha Drayton, Julia Marcou, Riley Jacobs, and Atsede Assayehgen for a fantastic season. They not only played well, they held the team together with both their skills and enthusiasm for the game of soccer.
∎ The Dublin School golf team ended its season with a Team Championship Match at the Dublin Lake Club. Ben Simon sank a 10-foot putt on the last hole to defeat Nick Lemieux and Ben Wright to become the team champion.
The Franklin Pierce men’s basketball team beat Molloy 85-72 on Saturday. Ryen Vilmont had 12 points and 8 rebounds, Adrianos Vourliotakis Perdikaris scored 12, Donte Gittens added 13 points and Curtis Christian scored 12 as well.
