Nick Martin joined the Ledger-Transcript staff in September 2008. He writes and photographs news and feature stories covering the towns of Lyndeborough, Temple and Wilton. Nick graduated from St. Michael's College in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication. In college he worked for the school's newspaper for
three years and interned at The Burlington Free Press. He has lived in southern New Hampshire since 1995.

Volunteers monitor river’s health

WILTON — Every other Tuesday at precisely 7:30 a.m. during the summer months Curt Schnare walks down to the Horseshoe, a popular swimming hole on the Souhegan River in Wilton, with a cooler — but he isn’t planning a picnic.
