$250 prizes for Jaffrey essays

Jaffrey students in grades 1 through 12 are invited to write an essay or poem titled “What Jaffrey Means To Me”. This writing opportunity is in celebration of the Jaffrey 250th Jubilee Anniversary this year.

The three submissions judged to best reflect the positive spirit of the Jaffrey community will be awarded $250 in honor of the town’s 250 th anniversary of incorporation. There will be one award for each grade level – elementary, middle, and high school. All three recipients will be asked to read their story to the audience at the Commemoration event on Aug. 17 at the Meetinghouse at 5:30 p.m.

There is no minimum number of words and the deadline has been extended to July first. To submit an entry, students need to include their name, grade and age, and a mailing address or email or phone number along with their piece of writing.

Submissions can be sent by email to jaffrey250writing@gmail.com or mailed to Writing Competition, 56 Gilmore Pond Road, Jaffrey, New Hampshire, 03452.
