Lionheart Classical Academy announced Monday that the Peterborough charter school for students in kindergarten through eighth grade has acquired the former Next Level Church building at 700 Dublin Road in Peterborough.
The building sits on more than 25 acres. According to a press release from the school, Lionheart Classical Academy plans to begin renovations this summer, and welcome students once the work is complete. Lionheart is looking to add one grade per year, with the goal of operating as a K-12 classical public charter school by 2030.
“We are excited to take this bold step forward in our commitment to fostering academic excellence and character development,” stated Mike Harner, executive director of Lionheart Classical Academy. “The acquisition of 700 Dublin Road provides us with the opportunity to grow our programs and continue serving our community with a transformative educational model.”
Next Level Church closed in February 2023, after allegations of financial mismanagement and bullying by its leadership team.
