The Hancock Town Library will host “An Introduction to American Sign Language” with instructor Katrina Rosa on Thursdays from Nov. 6 through Dec. 18, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This six-week course offers an introduction to conversational ASL, including visual communication, basic vocabulary, Deaf culture, and etiquette. Participants will practice communication skills and explore ways to build an accessible, inclusive community.
Rosa is a heritage signer who learned ASL as her first language from her deaf parents and family members. She also holds a certificate in ASL and brings extensive experience teaching the language.
The class costs $60, payable directly to Rosa at the first session. Registration is required by calling the library at 603-525-4411 or emailing hancocklibrary@comcast.net with โASL CLASSโ in the subject line.
The program is open to ages 16 and older.
