The Monadnock Area Transitional Shelter (MATS) has received a donation from Abrams Books, publisher of Peterborough author Lita Judgeโ€™s picture book “Old Blue Is My Home.” The donation was made in Judgeโ€™s honor and celebrates her bookโ€™s message of hope and belonging.

Based on Judgeโ€™s own childhood experiences with housing and economic insecurity, “Old Blue Is My Home” tells a story about what makes a home โ€” not wealth or possessions, but love and connection.

For more than 30 years, MATS has provided transitional housing and supportive services to individuals and families in the Monadnock region who are experiencing homelessness. The organization expressed gratitude to Abrams Books for its generosity and commitment to the local community.

MATS and the Peterborough Town Library will co-host โ€œAn Evening with Lita Judgeโ€ on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the libraryโ€™s 1833 Room, where Judge will discuss “Old Blue Is My Home” and what inspired her to create it.
