Wilton Police and the Wilton Ambulance Service responded to a single-vehicle crash over the weekend.

The sole occupant, Allison Grandi, 32, from Temple crashed a Subaru Crosstrek into a tree around 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25 on 755 State Route 101 in Wilton. The crash occurred on Ring’s Corner just west of Wilton Brookside Mini-Mart.

“The vehicle crashed just as the snowstorm started,” Wilton’s Interim Police Chief John Frechette said. He stated the crash happened at a sharp turn known to locals as Ring’s Corner.

According to Frechette, Wilton Ambulance Service evaluated Grandi, who said she did not need further treatment. He said Grandi appeared unharmed.

A cause for the crash wasn’t given in the crash report, Frechette added, but he said weather was likely a contributing factor.
