Rindge, NH – Carldon Raymond Hutchins, 85, a longtime resident of Rindge, passed away on January 15, 2026, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Born on November 27, 1940, also in Portsmouth, Carl lived a life marked by reliability, kindness, and a genuine interest in others.
Carl worked for many years at Wilson Farms in Lexington, Massachusetts, where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly, conversational nature. He was always ready with a story or a fun fact, and he made lasting impressions on coworkers and customers alike.
He was a proud member of the Battlegreen Chapter of DeMolay at the Simon W. Robinson Masonic Lodge, where he stood alongside his brothers Warren and Keith. Through these Masonic connections, he met his future wife, Judith Ann (Judy) Gallini, beginning a marriage that lasted 61 years.
Carl was a devoted father, supporting his sons, Richard and Michael, in hockey and Scouting, and later cheering on his daughter, Deirdre, throughout her synchronized skating career. He traveled widely with her teams, including memorable trips to Milan and Lucerne.
In retirement, Carl enjoyed delivering maple syrup and local goods to New England farm stands, tending to his lawn and gardens, reading newspapers and novels, and traveling with Judy. He cherished time with his grandchildren-Patrick Wilson, Katrina Wilson, and Serena Mire.
Carl was predeceased by his wife, Judith Ann; his brother, Keith Hutchins; and his niece, Kerrie Hutchins. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.
He will be remembered for his gentle humor, steady presence, and the quiet, meaningful ways he supported those he loved.
Services will be held at the Cathedral of the Pines at 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, NH later in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation in Carl’s name to Cathedral of the Pines, Rindge, NH.
