A man and a child were injured Friday afternoon in a rollover crash on Route 202 in Rindge, police said.
Police and firefighters responded at 3:38 p.m. to a report of a single-vehicle crash near County Road, according to a press release from Rindge Police Chief Rachel Malynowski.
Police said a 1989 Chevy Blazer was traveling north when another vehicle passed and cut in front of it. The driver, a 30-year-old Jaffrey man, braked, lost control and rolled the vehicle, which came to rest on the opposite side of the road, partially submerged in water.
The driver and a 5-year-old passenger suffered minor to moderate injuries. The child was flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester as a precaution, and the driver was taken there by Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance.
Police withheld their identities to protect the childโs privacy.
Rindge police were assisted at the scene and at the helicopter landing zone by the Jaffrey Fire Department and Jaffrey-Rindge Memorial Ambulance. Gauthier Auto Service removed the vehicle.
