After a good five months of short days, snow cancellations, power outages, high winds, bad driving conditions and bitter cold, Greenfield — like the rest of the region — is ready for spring, and our town calendar is filling up with events.

On Saturday, April 4, Red Barn Studio at the old sawmill will offer an “Intro to Beekeeping” class with Chandler Farm Apiaries. This is an opportunity to learn beekeeping hands-on with beekeeping equipment and tools. Questions are encouraged throughout the event, and everyone will leave with a taste of local honey. For information, call Andrea Grant at 603-547-7306.

On Tuesday, April 7, the Stephenson Memorial Library will launch a new program, “Book Talk and Walk at Oak Park.” On April 8, at 10 am, the library will host a sourdough baking class with The Little Bread Shed. This class is full, but you can contact Library Director Ella Cademartori to get on the waitlist. For a complete schedule of Stephenson Library events, go to greenfield-nh.gov/stephenson-memorial-library.

The Friends of Stephenson Library will sell tickets for their spring gift basket raffle through April 19. Winning tickets will be drawn during National Library Week, April 19 through 25. The baskets and gift items are on display now at Stephenson Library.

The Greenfield Historical Society is hosting an “Anything Goes Market” on April 18 at the newly renovated Meeting House. Hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The market will feature antiques, collectibles, vintage ware, crafts, and “other good stuff.” Light refreshments will be provided.

“We now have two full floors to fill up. If you can’t set up, come browse. You never know what treasure you may find,” said Adele Hale of the GHS. “There are still a few spots left.”

Tables, which will be provided, will be $20 for a 6-foot and $25 for an 8-foot. Contact Adele at 603-547-3403 or email bennybunny43@myfairpoint.net to reserve a spot.

On Saturday, April 25, at 10 a.m., GHS will host a presentation by Greenfield resident Bob Marshall, who will lead a walk to the historic Dane Farm off Slip Road. The walk is a follow-up to his presentation last fall, โ€œOld Roads and Cellar Holes — You Canโ€™t Get There From Here.โ€ In case of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, April 26, at 10 a.m.

Greenfield’s Girl Scout Troop 51925 is organizing a town-wide clean-up day on Sunday, May 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pizza and drinks will be provided for lunch; the clean-up is to prepare for the 250th celebration.
