The driver in a March 22 crash at Route 136 and Bible Hill Road in Francestown has been identified as Jonathan Whittum of Manchester.

Whittum, who was not seriously injured in the crash, is being charged with driving under the influence and aggravated DUI.  According to the Francestown Police Department, the hearing date for the charges is scheduled for May.

On March 22, at 1:34 p.m., the Francestown Police and Fire departments were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash near Route 136 and Bible Hill Road. While en route, emergency personnel were advised that the vehicle had sustained heavy damage and that the airbags had deployed.

When Francestown police officer Julianne Wigsten arrived at the site of the crash, EMS personnel advised her that Whittum, who was not wearing any clothes, had walked into the woods. He then returned to the vehicle.

Francestown Police Chief Mark Philibert stated that the EMS personnel wanted to transport Whittum to the hospital to rule out internal bleeding, including a brain bleed.

After the scene was secured, EMS personnel treated the driver for cuts and bruises, and Mikeโ€™s Towing was called to remove the vehicle.
