The Mansfield Public Library will participate in New Hampshire Humanitiesโ€™ US@250: Big Watch with a community film screening and discussion on Thursday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Temple Town Hall.

The event will feature a segment of โ€œThe American Revolution,โ€ a documentary by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt. The selected segment, โ€œThe Spirit of Service,โ€ explores service as a core American value, highlighting volunteerism, civic participation and public leadership from the nationโ€™s founding to the present.

Following the screening, David Alcox will lead a facilitated discussion focused on the theme of โ€œremembering together.โ€

The program is free and open to the public, and no registration is required.

The event is part of a statewide series supported by New Hampshire Humanities. Additional support is provided through a partnership with NHPBS and the Cogswell Benevolent Trust as part of the national initiative โ€œBy the People: Conversations Beyond 250.โ€

In addition, the Mansfield Public Library and the Temple Recreation Commission will host an American History Trivia Night on June 14. The event is designed for families, and teams that include at least one member age 17 or younger will receive bonus points. Registration begins May 11.
