Letter from a concerned citizen
To the Editor,
There are many concerned citizens out here, concerned about many things, such as the uncertainty all around – gas prices fluctuating, food prices inching higher every time a person goes to the supermarket. One day the war with Iran has ended and the next day it hasn’t.
People like stability. They like to feel that the politicians they have elected to govern are in control and will communicate what’s happening to the country in a direct and honest way. They are tired of lies and chaos.
It’s time for a change. But what can a person do? How can an individual change the highly complex governing system? Reliable sources recommend the following:
Become informed. An election is coming up in November that can bring much-needed change. It’s up to each person to learn about the candidates and vote for the ones who can bring about the change they want. But they must look beyond TV ads.
So how can anyone learn about the candidates?
Start with a candidate’s web page. People can look up voting records, watch interviews, learn about a candidate’s worldview, and become informed about global issues from reliable news sources, such as the Associated Press (AP) and Reuters.
And after they find candidates they feel will make the changes they want, they vote.
It might sound like work. But it can be done. If people become informed voters, they can change the direction of our country.
