The roots band Tattoo will perform a free concert from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 27 on the Hancock town common as part of the Hancock Summer Concert Series.

The local band, featuring husband-and-wife duo Fred Simmons and Leslie Vogel, performs American roots music, including rock ‘n’ roll, soul, swing, Cajun, and original songs. The group consists of Simmons on trombone, guitar, and tambourine; Vogel on piano and accordion; Dan Wheeler on bass; Paul Day on drums; and Walden Whitham on saxophone, clarinet, flute, and rubboard. All members contribute vocals.

In the event of rain, the performance will be held downstairs in the Meetinghouse.
